NOTD

Hey guys :)

Just wanted to do a quick nail of the day!!  I purchased this along with Essie's mint candy apple (which I wore previously for a NOTD here).  Today's nail color is also by Essie, and its "brooch the subject".

I would describe the color as a beige-y nude.  I do like this color for a daily polish since it pretty much matches with everything :D.  This is a little darker and browner than your typical nude nail polish though...which I'm not sure if it bothers me but we'll see.

Bath & Body Works, Sephora & More!

Hey guys :)

School has started for a little over a week now, and with all things settled, I decided to run to the mall to stock up on some wallflowers since I recently ran out :(
In case you didn't know, wallflowers are these things by bath & body works which you plug into the socket and they make your room smell so so wonderful & i love them to bits.

When I got to bath & body works, I also saw that their candles were 50% off and I also picked up 2 of them...and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing they smell!

Kitchen Spice Candle -- my new favorite scent!!

Sticky Toffee Pudding Candle; smells good enough to eat

Getting Those Killer Eyes...

MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS!! :)

I'm sure you guys have lots of parties/dinners lined up in the next few days with Christmas and New Years coming up and all -- these big gatherings give you the perfect opportunity to impress some guys and make things interesting ;)

Steph planned this all girls get together at Ritz Carlton, and I decided to finally try falsies for the first time!
(Though I did have other ones for my graduation, I didn't actually put them on myself)
False lashes are perfect for adding that extra something to complete your eye makeup.

NOTD & Small MAC Haul :)

Hey guys!

I finally got around to trying the butter london polishes and I have to say, I am VERY impressed with them.  They apply well & only needed 2 coats; each coat only took 5 minutes at most to dry, which is perfect for times if you want to get your nails done but don't have a lot of time to spare.

The shade I used today was Rosie Lee.  Its a really cute pink glitter polish, hope you guys like it!

Yesterday I also picked up 2 lipsticks from MAC: Creme D'Nude & Creme Cup.  Both are cremesheen lipsticks, which are one of the more hydrating MAC lipsticks.

Creme D'Nude is a nude color (as the name suggests), whereas Creme Cup is a light pinky color :)

They go on very smoothly & are very hydrating! However, I still like to put on a layer of lip balm before applying lipstick.

I actually compiled a list of MAC lipsticks that I would want to purchase myself so I thought I would add it here if you guys wanted to check them out or give me feedback if you own these!

NUDES
Creme D'Nude
High Tea
Blankety

NATURAL PINK
Creme Cup
Angel

BERRY
Hang Up

REDS
Cockney
Lady Bug

Of course there are more that I would want to try, but if I could only get a few, these would be the ones I would check out first.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday & that you enjoyed this post.  Leave a comment below with your favorite MAC lipsticks!

HOME & Perfume

Hey guys :)

I got home last night and have just been unpacking, catching up with parents, you know all that stuff.  My dad recently went to New York for a business trip and went to abercrombie to pick up some jeans for me!

I went home to find this perfume sitting on my drawer, so I thought I would share it with you guys and one other perfume I recently purchased:

"A&F no. 1 perfume"

This smells exactly like the A&F shop itself.  I'm sure most of you have all been inside Abercrombie before, but for those who haven't, they have this signature scent and since I can't describe it, this is what the website says: fresh peony, tangelo, white pepper, sandalwood and crisp white pine.
However, I find that the smell isn't as "in your face" as the smell in the store if you know what I mean :P

As for the packaging, I think its very clean looking & the bow just makes it super super cute!!

Overall, I do like this perfume and I think its perfect for spring and summer, when you want a more crisp scent.  I will be using this interchangeably with my D&G light blue (go check them out if you haven't!)

Kate Walsh's "Boyfriend"

As for this perfume, the scent is described to be a mixture of dark plum, myrrh, night blooming jasmine, benzoin tears, skin musk, golden amber and vanilla woods.

I personally find this scent very interesting -- it seems to smell different every time I smell it.  However, both my parents have told me that this scent is a little old for me.  I do have another friend who is the same age as I am who loves this as well (guess its a personal thing).

I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PACKAGING. the black and gold makes this perfume look super expensive and so pretty as a decoration!

Overall I still like this perfume, but I would consider this more to be a nighttime scent.  I also wouldn't recommend this for young teens, but more for people in their early 20s.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and found the review helpful!!
We also have a OOTD coming real soon,

Romantic ethereal braids for our everyday style

Braids are the classy must-know hairstyles a girl can have (apart from a chignon of course but it's not everyday that we have a ball to attend darling). Tired of your regular plain-jane-plait? Here are two styles that are sure to add a lovely beautiful charm to your regular braids.

The rope twist on myself

The Rope Twist
"Romantic and simple, makes you feel like a princess "

This classical twist adds a beautiful Rapunzel-esque charm to your everyday hairstyle. Though it looks complicated, it is in fact extremely simple and easy to accomplish!

Beginner tip: Tie your hair into a low side pony before starting!

1. Split hair into 2 strands
2. Twist both individual strands away from the face, ie. if braid is on left shoulder, twist anticlockwise and vice versa!
3. Now wrap the outside strand over inside strand in the other direction
4. Secure it tightly with a band and now you have a lovely rope braid!

Hot tip: When i first started, i always got a friend to help me hold one of the strands so that they wouldn't spring away from my grasp!
The Herringbone on my lovely friend Ashlee

The Herringbone Plait
"Are you ready to release your inner siren?"

Delicate and intricate, this pretty plait will give you the charm of an alluring mermaid.

Beginner tip: Try it on a friend first! This plait is super easy in concept but hard to do it neat and well for yourself at first!

1. Starting near the base of your head, split hair into two strands.
2. Now take a small piece of hair from the outer sides of one of your strands
3. And cross it over to the opposite strand (so it's kinda like you're taking a bit of hair and transferring it to the other strand)
4. Keep crossing the strands into the opposite bunches until you get a long plait!

Hot tip: The smaller the pieces incorporated, the more delicate your plait!

Hope I didn't confuse you girls too badly with this! If you have any further questions regarding these plaits, please feel free to comment below or email me directly! I would be more than happy to help!

NOTD: Essie's Mint Candy Apple

Hey guys,

So excited to post my first Nails of the Day! I'm actually in the middle of studying for finals right now, so Steph will be doing most of the blogging for the time being...However, I thought i'll quickly drop by and make a short post before going back to studying :)

Since I was small, I have loved everything mint: gum, chocolate, toothpaste...literally anything mint.  Recently, I also purchased mint green snowboarding pants (♥), and when I saw this Essie nail polish, it reminded me so much of my pants and mint that I just had to get it!

As you can see, I'm nowhere near as good as Steph at taking pics...I hope she doesn't kill me for posting ugly pics, but what can I do :P

I absolutely love the color of this polish, but this was a little harder to apply compared to my other ones.  The first coat was very uneven, so I applied a total of 2 coats & topped it off with a top coat.  Other than that, no complaints!

Along with the Essie polish, I also bought 3 Butter London ones:
they are soooo prettyyyy
from left to right: West End Wonderland, Rosie Lee & Chancer

I have yet to try these out, so I will do a blog post of these later on but I would love to wear Chancer for Christmas and West End Wonderland for New Years!

Let me know what your favorite Essie and Butter London polishes are!  Or if you have any tips for applying them, that would be great too.

Mac
